Internal Restrictions

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with a confirmed case within the previous 14 days, call the Lithuanian COVID-19 hotline on +370 37367 963. The hotline is open daily between 8 am and 11 pm In case of an emergency, call 112.
*Travel in Lithuania: It is compulsory to wear a mask or face covering in taxis and on public transport. Failure to comply could lead to a fine of between 500€ and 1,500€ for the first offence. Tickets for public transport should be bought in advance or via a travel app. From Friday 9 October, Raseiniai District will be subject to local lockdown restrictions, for an initial period of 14 days. Restrictions in the district include:
• no public events or gatherings (with the exception of general election voting);
• restaurants and bars must close by 24:00;
• compulsory mask wearing in public;
• maximum of two people groups (or one family) outside your household;
• all schools to move to virtual teaching;
• limited numbers of customers in shops and on public transport;
• closure of non-essential face-to-face public services;
• people encouraged to work from home where possible; Travel in and out of Raseiniai District is not restricted.

*Public places and services: It is compulsory to wear a mask or face covering in shops, indoor markets, bars, restaurants, service providers (such as beauticians), medical facilities and in public institutions, and while watching live sporting events, unless consuming food or drink. People with a medical exemption from mask wearing are advised to wear face shields if possible Failure to comply with mask wearing requirements could lead to a fine of between 500€ and 1,500€ for the first offence. If attending a public event (such as festivals and concerts), including free events, you will be required to register in advance.



Self-isolation at own accommodation- based on cateogrisation.

A two-week self-isolation requirement is applied to persons arriving from COVID-19 affected countries or in transit through them. Affected countries are those with a coronavirus infection incidence rate exceeding 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the last 14 days. The official list of affected countries is available at the Ministry of Health website. Foreigners arriving from countries where the COVID-19 incidence rate exceeds 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants will have to provide a negative result to a coronavirus test performed within 72 hours prior to their arrival and they will be required to self-isolate for 14 days, also in case of a negative result to the test.

Citizens from EU+ and persons lawfully residing in these countries are allowed to enter Lithuania without restrictions, provided that the incidence rate of COVID-19 in their country of origin has not exceeded 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. Foreigners arriving from countries where the COVID-19 incidence rate exceeds 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants will have to provide a negative result to a coronavirus test performed within 72 hours prior to their arrival and they will be required to self-isolate. The self-isolation period can be shortened from 14 to 10 days if you gain a negative COVID-19 PCR test on or after your 8th day of self-isolation. You can register for a PCR test by calling the COVID-19 hotline on +370 37367 963. The hotline is open daily between 8 am and 11 pm. You must not use public transportation to travel to the testing centre.
